Midi-Pyrénées

Located in southwest France, Midi-Pyrénées is the largest French region. It is the place for the most stunning "Great sites" in France. The region offers visitors an extraordinary diversity of natural landscapes, from the peaks and lakes of the Pyrenees in the south to the lush green valley of the Dordogne in the north, from the richness of Gascony in the west to the drama of the Gorges du Tarn in the east. There's a wealth of cultural and architectural treasures too, including 3 different routes on the St James of Compostela pilgrimage trail.
There are countless charming villages, and lots of atmospheric local markets. Sports lovers can look forward to a wide range of exhilarating sports from white-water rafting to skiing, paragliding, canyoning and free-ride mountain biking as well as hiking, horse-riding and cycling.
